Cookies and local storage
Last changed 2026-09-15
This page lists what this site puts in your browser. It is a short list, because this site signs you in without a cookie and counts nothing unless you say it may.
Two things are listed separately, because they are not the same thing: cookies, which travel to the server with every request, and local storage, which stays on your device and is read only by the page itself.
Cookies
Only one cookie is set by this site itself, and it is set only once you have answered the question about statistics — a site you have never answered on stores no cookie at all.
| Name | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
gh_consent | Remembers whether you agreed to visit statistics. Set only when you answer, and holds a refusal just as firmly as an agreement, so that the banner does not ask you again. | About 6 months |
_ga, _ga_… | Set by Google Analytics to tell one visit from another. These exist only if you agreed. If you refused, or have not answered, Google’s tag is never loaded and these are never created. | Set by Google, typically up to 2 years |
Kept in your browser, not sent to us
These live in your browser’s local storage. They stay on the device, are never attached to a request automatically, and are readable only by this site’s own pages. The session token is the one exception in spirit: the page reads it and sends it deliberately when it needs to prove who you are.
| Name | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
gh_session_token | The token that keeps you signed in. This site uses no sign-in cookie at all — which is why clearing cookies does not sign you out, and clearing site data does. | Until you sign out, or 30 days |
gh_color_scheme | Whether you chose the light or the dark theme, so the page does not flash the wrong one on the next load. | Until you clear it |
gh_character_builder, gh_character_builder_x, gh_build_draft_… | The planner sheet you were working on and any unsaved draft of a build, so closing the tab does not lose it. | Until you clear it |
Your choice
This deployment has no analytics configured at all, so there is nothing to agree to: no tag is loaded and no statistics cookie is set for anybody.
Clearing them yourself
Every browser can delete cookies and site data for one site, usually from the padlock or the icon at the left of the address bar. Doing that here forgets your answer about statistics — so the banner will ask again — signs you out, and loses any unsaved planner sheet.
